Hi, this is reverend Bryan Baik, a lead pastor at GPS Home. Welcome to GPS Home site.
I am a 1.5 Korean-American who came to America at the age of 15, had studied electrnics engineering in DeVry Institute of Technology, and had worked at Applied Materials, a Silicon Valley company, for 18 years. So far I have been married for 25 years to my lovely wife Lili and we have three children: Dosan (24), Lydia (21), and Samuel (14).
At the age of 40, I have confirmed God’s calling to the ministry and completed my seminary education (MDiv at Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary) in 2006 and have become an ordained pastor (at Korean Baptist church of San Jose) in 2007. My ministry experience includes several years of children pastor, youth pastor, EM pastor, and KM pastor. Now I am here at GPS and serve as a senior pastor.
My hobby in life is sports. I love outdoor sports. I enjoy watching others play sports but I get more joy out of participating in the sports. My favorite sports include Ping-Pong, tennis, golf, volleyball, bowling and now jogging.
But my greatest joy in life is to see a person being introduced to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, being matured by the word of God, and becoming a leader who greatly influences and impacts others and communities. Even though I am a pastor by vocation but I like to be called as “leadership coach” for my mission in life is to “help people to discover their full potentials designed and planned according to the Creator’s intent” and equip them and empower them as effective leaders. That’s why I can say that my vision and passion in life is to raise leaders and equip them as effective spiritual leaders.
